Awesome story awesome script. Cannot wait to read more from these guys. I am considering getting the paper form. Not kindle.
How much you like this installment of The Sixth Gun probably depends on how much you like watching fights that involve crowds of snake men. I personally could have used about half as much of that. I also felt like the voiceover was kinda telling me a bunch of stuff I already know here - and not in an artistic way like when it kept repeating the awful powers of the guns in the last volume and it chilled me. BUT given the emotional investment I have in these characters (even the dead ones), I can't stop reading until the end.
As we near the end of the Sixth Gun, we get an exciting gun battle, a last chapter that will get you excited for the last book but unfortunately a long, drawn out middle that I found to be the a little too convenient for our heroes. We also get to see more of the Knights of Solomon and Swords of Abraham. I found this to be a little distracting from the story and felt like they were just trying to resolve some of the outstanding factions they had out there.The town the Grey Witch had created was interesting and a little eerie. It really shows how manipulative she is. This town though creates the problem I have with the book. The Grey Witch now has a giant army of snake men in the town and our heroes, down to three, need a miracle to stand a chance. The deus ex machina comes when Screaming Crow summons the Thunderbirds to help attack the town. I know that it has been established that Screaming Crow tamed the Thunderbirds but I thought the good guys using them was a little too convenient (then again, they made the snake men army so big that there was no other choice). I found the whole part way too long and, as I mentioned, too convenient for the heroes.Once the Thunderbirds are out of the picture, it gets back to the western feel with Drake fighting off some snake men and Becky finding the fate of Kirby (which you have to see coming since they kept showing his picture at the beginning of the chapters).If you can get past the Thunrderbird part though, you will definitely want to read the final book to see how it all ends.
